Transformation of a Man
I had dinner with Ben yesterday at Serangoon G when he posed this question which I had a hard time answering.
"Do you think your partner has influenced you in a certain way and vice versa". This question was asked in the context of food preferences whereby Ben told us that he has since moved to eating boiled chicken versa roasted chicken after meeting XY and since then onwards, he only eats boiled chicken to suit XY.
I paused for a while and looked at PQ in the face to think through if we have ever changed our likings since we got together. There were many bubbles forming in my head to find an answer.
Frankly, I dont have an answer at that point in time, as our eating habits have not changed since getting together. For example, I still prefer boiled chicken rice whereas PQ loves roasted chicken rice and we have never tried to influence each other to try to accept what you like! The way two of us works is that we have came to an agreement to "disagree" on issues that we cant resolve and move on. Thereis no point trying to convince each other of your preference (and it applies not just to food). If PQ wants to eat roast chicken while I prefer the other, we will just go about and order 2 separate plates.
And it is not necessary a bad thing to look at it. Firstly, there is less disagreement per se, and secondly, you are who you are and why do you have to change if that is not what you like.
