Back in Action
Folks,
It happened in a rush that i have got no time to inform anyone, even my family. In a flash that i can hardly believe it myself too. I was activated and flew within 4 hours for another relief mission in Sumatra, in P.Nias. well.... Im back
On that factful day of 29th March, I was happily making courtesy calls to the Indonesian's airforce for the completion of the Tsumani relief operations since they were in town and having lunch with them, when the phone call came. My boss called to say that we are going into Indonesia again as the earthquake of magnitude 8.9 hit them and the town of P.Nias was badly damage and in need of help... I tot to myself "Oh my God" and in the next moment, driving like a Formula 1 driver on the road to home.
Was back in office by 1.45pm, and also explains why i had no time to inform anyone of anything regarding this mission. Well, the rest is imaginable, and it was tough work for the weeks as we had to plan the missions and the humanitarian equipment or stores to ferry across to P.Nias and Telok Dalam. Life was tough, but meaningful as stretched victims were evacuated and brought to the hospitals. Family cried for the lost of their love ones and you do feel fortunate that you live in a country that is affluent and disaster free.
So lets cherrish the love ones we have.
As for me, i indeed got my 2 weeks holiday! 2 weeks tour of Indonesia instead of my America trip... hmmm..... talk abt compromise... haha
